Lies & Deception vs Truth and Honesty

JAT:

Until recently it had been easy to separate and recognize which of these concepts were a core American principle that defined us as a Country. But, since the 2017 Inauguration of our current administration, it appears that a 'Base Group' of Americans have been more than willing to forego our traditional values in favor of the opportunity to express deep seated and long-held resentment toward 'the Others'.

While it is true that in the past each person determined his or her own version of truth about a given situation, most seemed to have used an objective view of the facts along with a personal set of moral principles common to most Americans. Recently however, those guidelines have been pushed aside in favor of opportunism, allowing Lies and Deception to become a 'New Norm'.

As an example, one individual may say that our 44th President was the worst in American history while another may say he was among the best. Another could ask the question of that same President, ('what achievements?'), While someone else could easily list his many accomplishments. The point is, each person is using some form of lies, deception, truth and honesty in expressing their opinion and only they possess the power to alter that opinion, no matter how loud others may scream.

PS, In the meantime, how about them “emails”?

I disagree. If someone robs you and takes your last penny, I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t see their profession as beneficial to you in any way. And yet the family he feeds with his thieving ways sees much benefit to being able to eat and stay alive. Similarly, just because your best friend is nice, and generous, and kind…to you, doesn’t mean (s)he is a complete piece of shit to others. That doesn’t mean all of those other people are either lying or delusional, it just means their experience and their lives are different than yours and can’t be measured by the criteria by which you arbitrarily decide their lives should be measured. Not everyone’s needs are the same as your own. Not everyone’s interests align with your own. Not everyone’s goals are the same as your own.
